Wedding Invitation

Roberto is a talented graphic designer that designed our wedding invitation. He is Jon's friend from CBU, and they have stayed connected via text, facebook, and myspace. One of my favorite parts of our wedding was the invitation. Our wedding was Fall themed, and Roberto did such a great job in setting the scene for that.

When Roberto told Jon that he was going to pop the question, and how he was going to do it, we both knew that they were a fun unconventional couple. Roberto popped the question via Twitter. I don't know all the details, but I do remember it was cute, sweet and creative.  So knowing the story behind their engagement, I was delighted to see their wedding invitation. I thought it was so cute and creative, I wanted to share it with you all.
The front is the story of how they met.

Inside, is their story continued, with wedding information.

I loved this part.

It is so unconventional, and I love it!

The End.

That looks A LOT like an invitation that was going around on some blogs a while back, it was so clever! http://metalmother.com/motherboard/index.php/2008/11/married

The whole thing was really different, even how to RSVP, you text them. Makes sence since people have a hard time RSVP ing these days.

A friend of mine directed my attention to Matt Dorfman's invite a while back. So, when I saw it, I knew I had to tell my story in a similar fashion.

Like any creative, I imitate those artists or concepts that I admire. And so after getting the inspiration, I was up for the challenge of making that idea my own.

It took some time to abbreviate five or so years of history, but in the end I was very happy.

If you look at our Save-the-Date, you'll notice the line art and tiled lines were inspired by the "Juno" packaging that went around in 2007-2008.

And if you look at Jon & Alyssa's invitation, you'll notice I got my inspiration from Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know-EP" album cover.

Thanks for the kind words Alyssa! I can't wait to celebrate with you, Jon and Adah next month. Tell Jon he needs to get ready for some live tweeting :)
