Time

Well, we are still at Papa's bedside, and are trying to make his as comfortable as possible. We are all sticking around my grandparents house, with the exception of those who have to go to work, but even that has been very flexible.

My Mom has been here since Monday, and I have been here since Wednesday. We just try to make things as normal as possible. Adah is being extremely cooperative considering she has been away from home for so long, and is not in her "normal" routine. She has been a nice distraction.

We are cherishing this time we have with him knowing that he is going to meet Jesus soon.

Update: As I was typing this, I was called into his room by my dad. He took his last breath and was very peaceful. I am so thankful for this week (almost) that we had with him at home, with all the people he loves. God is good!

Our Papa

Oscar Colley, on his 90th birthday

I haven't been able to post in a while because my family is in the midst of caring for my grandpa (Papa) who is home on hospice. This has been especially difficult for my mom, who has been at their house since Monday to be by his side.

In one week he went having the ability to talk and move, to being bedridden and unable to speak or move. The doctor says his body is shutting down, and that we have about 10-15 days with him. He has said one phrase words under his breath, but he cannot tell us what he wants, but you can see in his eyes he is there. He will try to say "I love you," but it takes about every ounce of energy out of him.

The sad reality is we will not have him with us much longer, his quiet, gentle temperament will be greatly missed. But the truth is that he knows Christ, and will see Him soon, and us again. That truth gives us great peace in see him leave his tired old body.

Please keep our family in prayer, as we interact with family members, that we be a light. Please keep my mom in prayer as she cares for him. This is very hard for her as they have always had a special relationship.

The World of Color

We recently got the opportunity to see the new "World of Color" water show at Disneyland. We went because it was the last day of our passes being available for the Summer, and we had to see the show everyone has been raving about. I was a little bit nervous because we got Fastpasses for the 11:15pm show! Having a baby with a regular bedtime between 8 and 9 is really a way to ruin an evening. But Adah did great! She fell asleep at about 7pm and slept until almost 9. She ate a bit of dinner, and we watch the fire work show, then headed to The World of Color.

It was by far the BEST water, light show I have ever seen! It had effects that I had never seen before. It blew all other shows we have seen out of the water. Literally. The Colors were amazing, and it made me want to watch all the older Disney movies like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The little Mermaid, and The Lion King.

I highly, highly recommend you see this show. You will have to get there somewhat early, but it is really worth the wait!
